A total of 50 dormouse boxes and four bat boxes have recently been installed at the A303 IBA Processing Facility as part of the Site’s Habitat Creation and Management Scheme. The scheme focuses on land immediately north and west of the storage area and is designed to protect and enhance the surrounding woodland while supporting a range of local wildlife.

Key objectives include:

• Protecting and enhancing the surrounding woodland.

• Ensuring the successful establishment and ongoing management of newly planted habitats.

• Safeguarding protected species, including dormouse, reptiles and nesting birds.

• Maintaining and enhancing available habitats for local wildlife. These nesting boxes are important for local ecology and will be monitored by an ecologist on an annual basis.
