Martyn is the Unit Manager for Fortis IBA and has worked in the industry for over 20 years, across a variety of roles from Mobile Plant Operator to Quarry Manager.

“I have worked within the aggregates industry for 22 years ranging from mobile plant operator to Transport Supervisor to Quarry Manager.

I have been employed by the business since 2015 when I was originally employed as the Site Manager at Ardley IBA Processing Facility. In 2016, I became a Unit Manager for two of our sites and I am now Unit Manager for the A303 IBA Processing Facility (Hampshire), Ardley IBA Processing Facility (Oxfordshire) and Calvert IBA Processing Facility (Buckinghamshire).

My role entails ensuring the safe and efficient running of all three sites while meeting financial and production targets. I also look at continually improving how we operate through new practices and innovative technologies.

I like that the IBA and waste-to-energy industry is still fairly new so we are constantly learning new ways of operating, new ways to improve what we do and new ways of ensuring we are getting the best out of what we do.”
